Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho will be wheeler dealing with his squad again this summer and some will be surprised with his pursuit of Radamel Falcao.
The Monaco star had something of a shocker at Manchester United last season and only scored 4 goals in 29 games. But, those who watched him closely will know that it was a case of ‘so nearly’ with his form.
Because he did show portents of getting back to his best, as he moved around like a flea – elusive and fast. But he never had the requisite run in the team to shake off the rust and alas, it wasn’t to be at Old Trafford.
But it could turn out to be a great signing for Chelsea. And even though hi wages will be high, the lack of transfer fee means that this is low-risk gamble.
The Telegraph reports:
Chelsea are edging closer to agreeing a deal to sign Radamel Falcao on a season long loan from Monaco
One source close to the club said that the deal was ’90 per cent done’.
Cliches are annoying but usually true and if anyone can get the best out of Falcao then it’s the Chelsea manager – who makes his players feel like titans and cajoles the best out of most.
If he can get Falcao back to the boil at 29 then he will have genuine options up top and give Diego Costa a real run for his money as the undisputed top striker at Chelsea.
Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Chelsea fans: masterstroke or waste of wonga?
