Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that he is looking for an additional striker this summer and only a few players could noticeably improve the excellent squad that The Blues already have.
There has been a swell of speculation that Radamel Falcao will join the club this summer and it would be fascinating to see whether Mourinho could bring the lad back to the boil.
While that deal has gone back onto simmer mode, the latest reports suggest that Chelsea are planning a move for the superb Gonzalo Higuain. Some meddling individuals are so confident that a deal will be done that they have already updated Wikipedia to state that Higuain is a Chelsea player:
The 27 year old has scored 35 in 69 for Napoli and smashed in 23 in 47 for Argentina. He’s not only a brilliant striker but also very much the sort of number 9 that Mourinho likes.
He’s technically brilliant and a very intelligent striker. But he can also mix it with the biggest players physically. He won’t be intimidated or pushed off the ball easily and he seems perfect for The Premier League.
Chelsea would be extremely well advised to sign this lad but the question is whether both he and Diego Costa can play in the same team. Because neither will want to spend long spells on the bench at this stage of their careers.
Let’s see Higuain in action. Chelsea fans: thew best possible option?
