If Arsenal can sign a new spine this summer they will win everything on offer – simple!

But the purchasing part has always proved to be something of a challenge for Arsene.

Why he hasn’t signed Petr Cech already we have no idea. You would imagine that, if the boot were on Jose’s foot and he needed a top stopper, then a deal for Cech would already be in the bag. I mean, what’s not to like about Cech to Arsenal? Does Wenger know something we don’t?

Similarly, another midfielder is needed to marshall the defence. Coquelin has been a revelation but, like any department of a top squad, he needs help.

Arsenal are biding their time over the acquisition of another midfield general but reports suggest that they may have switched their focus from the likes of Geoffrey Kondogbia and Morgan Schneiderlin. The Times reports:

Arsenal are considering a move to sign Grzegorz Krychowiak, the Seville and Poland midfielder, as an alternative to Morgan Schneiderlin.

The Seville player has a £21m release clause in his contract and, at 25, he’s entering the peak of his career. He’s played 24 times for Poland and been star of the midfield since joining Seville last summer.

The report suggests that Arsenal aren’t happy to pay £25m for one of the best players in The Premier League over the last 12 months – Schneidelrin – but they may instead pay £21m for a player who isn’t proven in The Premier League. You do the math!

Let’s see the lad in action. Arsenal fans: keen to have a nibble?
