Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is famed for his meticulous approach and he has apparently been very specific about his transfer targets this summer as The Telegraph reports:
Atletico have offered Toby Alderweireld to Chelsea in an attempt to divert their attention, but manager Jose Mourinho has made it clear he would prefer to sign Miranda.

Chelsea are clearly looking to bolster the heart of their defence with the inevitable demise of John Terry not too far away. Terry had one of his better seasons this year but he a warts and all captain and his body must have taken a buffeting over the years. Chelsea would be wise to brig in fresh blood this summer and we think Alderweireld would be a decent addition.
The 26 year old Belgian was a roaring success for Southampton last year, playing 27 times and scoring once. He also has 43 caps for Belgium and marries power with nice feet and good reading of the game.
Miranda
But far be it for us to second guess the master of defending, Jose Mourinho.
He has apparently been very specific about his desires and would prefer Chelsea to sign the 30 year old Miranda. He’s a big lad who won’t get pushed about, has the sort of quick feet that you would expect of a Brazilian and will also get you the odd goal with his head from set pieces.
The source says that Manchester United are also interested in signing the player and, while they seem to have money to burn, Chelsea can point to their current superiority on the field as a reason for the Brazilian to choose London.
