Manchester United will scour the world for the players to bring the good times back to the club. But they may only have to venture to the South Coast of England to find their next great midfielder.
In many ways Morgan Schneiderlin is the perfect modern anchor man. He’s a smart team player who has fantastic technique and a good engine. His passing ability is also excellent and he knows where the goal is.
We have been banging on about Manchester United making a move for ages and, if latest reports are to be believed, the club have confirmed their interest.
The Daily Star reports:
A senior United figure told Starsport: “Yes, we are interested in Morgan but no deal is imminent.”
It is understood United bosses have made contact with Schneiderlin’s representatives to let their interest be known and are waiting with an opening bid of around £20m.
We believe that he would be a much better bet than Schweinsteiger. The German is top class but, at 30, he wouldn’t have too much time to grow into the team and is already replete with the battle scars of over 100 games for Germany.
But at 25 The Frenchman could well be the next Carrick for Manchester United. He can give 8 years of top service to the club and make them an altogether more solid unit when the Englishman isn’t about.
