Forget waiting until the summer to assess your options. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho probably new what he needed for his squad at the turn of the year. And after Chelsea went out of The Champions League to PSG he would have been creation about exactly how, and possibly even who, he needed to bring to the club this summer.
In latest news the Chelsea boss has lifted the lid on his thoughts for the squad this summer and reckons that there will be more than one arrival. The Express reports:
“We like the players, we are happy with the players,” Mourinho said.
“Two or three are always coming to the club, that’s normal. The players I am looking for are my players, the players I want to keep. Last season I had players I wanted to sell.
“The most important thing in the market is not to lose players. How can I find a better striker than Diego Costa? A better midfielder than Matic? A better right-back than Ivanovic?
You would imagine that, with Didier Drogba leaving the club again, Chelsea will look for another striker. In the heart of defence there is a sense that Chelsea can improve, with John Terry now 34. And there have been persistent rumours about The Blues looking for another pacy wide man along the lines of Antoine Griezmann.
