There has been a steady flow of Manchester United products to Everton over the years and The Toffees have generally seen good value for their money.
The latest United player to be linked with a move to Everton is Jonny Evans. The Daily Mail reports:
With Barclays Premier League club Everton interested in him, it could be the right time for the Northern Ireland international to move on as he looks to kick start a career that has recently began to stall.
First, the bad news – after being tipped as an integral player in Louis van Gaal’s defence last summer, Evans has arguably endured his worst season yet. He started preseason in America as if he was hungover and the mistakes have been flowing ever since.
The good news – He was never able to gain any momentum this season after suffering a couple of substantial injuries and getting that dubious ban for the incident with Papisse Cisse.
At 27 he is coming into the prime of his career as a defender and while his chances at United seem to have dried up he could be exactly the sort of steady and classy defender that could help Everton thrive. He’s good on both feet and, at his best, very composed on the ball. He also likes to bring the ball out of defence which can be a useful and spectacular quality.
He also has great experience having won The Championship with Sunderland, 3 league titles and 2 league cups with United.
Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Everton fans: would he be worth a summer punt?

“ex-United man Phil Jagielka” – I think you got your facts a bit mixed up there. Jags never played for Man United. However, he did play for Sheffield United so technically you’re right! 😉

@soccersweep. I tried to be gentle. Good to see you made the necessary adjustments! Personally I think Evans would thrive at Everton. There’s a reason so many bit part players have succeeded at Everton – a new challenge in a slightly more forgiving environment. Phil Neville being the poster child for that theory!

Are you nuts he has had a shit season, injury prone & dodgy temperament, spitting on Cisse degusting! Van Dyke or N’koulou hands down!

Oh dear god no no no and certainly not for the £10m being suggested!!! Rather trust an academy player – Galloway – to be brought on.

Are you sure this will be a good signing for the club. Injury prone like another Manchester United player Darron Gibson ?
