Special Talent

At least he was a pretty well kept secret until Sadio Mane scored the fastest hat trick in Premier League history in the 6-1 mauling of Aston Villa at the weekend.

But anyone who has seen him perform this season has to be impressed. His control of the football is exemplary. He’s dynamic and can make devastating runs from deep. He’s quick, hardworking, inventive and scores goals – 10 in 31 for his club this season.

If Manchester United want to let Angel di Maria go this summer then they could do a lot worse than to have a long look at this guy.

We aren’t big fans of the best players being skimmed off the smaller clubs each season. But, with the way he has been playing, there is bound to be interest from bigger sides this summer. Because, for our money, he’s been one of the very best performers in the league this season.

Very exciting talent

Very exciting talent

Manchester United will surely be looking for more attacking thrust this summer and may well go for the likes of Gareth Bale or strikers such as Gonzalo Higuain. But, if they are looking at more creative signings who could bed into The Premier League straight away then Mane would surely be an exciting option.

He’s only played for a year on the south coast and he may well wish to spend another couple of seasons – or even a career – at The Saints.

But he’s definitely one to watch because he’s impressed us as much as anyone in The Premier Legaue this season.

Let’s see the lad in action. Manchester United fans: could you see him doing the business at the club?
