Give youth a chance

After the debacle at West Brom it’s easy to form an argument that some Chelsea players are already celebrating the title. They applied themselves to a decent extent and the Fabregas red card clearly played a part in the outcome.

But these are almost no win games for Chelsea now so we think that they should be resting some of their stars and letting this much vaunted Chelsea youth system manifest some of its riches.

We have heard all about the promise of the kids and Ruben Loftus-Cheek has shown exceptional composure for one so young. Chelsea also used the adaptable Nathan Ake and also Izzy Brown against West Brom.

Particularly with this being a home game, Chelsea should show us some more of what the future may hold and, at once, give the youngsters some vital experience.

Of course, in fairness to Sunderland’s fellow relegation battlers, a nucleus of experienced players should be retained. But you could argue that the youngsters would be more motivated by the opportunity to establish themselves.

So, with that in mind, here is our eleven for the last game of the season, which should include wild celebrations of another title under the mercurial Jose Mourinho. Kurt Zouma would get the nod at centre back but it looks as if a knee injury has ended his season. We also think that Petr Cech must get a run out in what could well be his last game for the club.

Chelsea fans: let’s have your elevens.

He’d never play Brown up top, he sees him as a wide forward. Solanke up top if anything. I’d give Boga 45. He isn’t consistent enough yet but can be devastating if he’s up for it. Aina too, great attacking full back.
