Replacing superstars can be a painful experience. And in the case of John Terry, Chelsea have a huge job on their hands. But, if reports are to be believed, they could move for a long-term replacement in John Stones. The Daily Mail says:
Chelsea and Manchester City target Everton defender John Stones for summer transfer
At just 20 years of age the lad has unbelievable composure. That he has only played 27 times for Everton this season is due to injury because he looks every inch the nailed on starter already. His form over the last couple of seasons has also earned him a call up to the full England squad, for whom he already has four caps.
But he signed a new 5 year contract at Everton just last August and they look in no mood to sell to Chelsea or anyone. The lad was born in the north of England (Barnsley) and must feel comfortable learning his trade at an excellent club like Everton. We think that he would risk everything by making such a big move at this stage of his career. If he starts slowly it could put him back years.
It’s easy to imagine that Chelsea are interested in Stones, but we just can’t see this one happening for the foreseeable future.
Let’s see the lad in action. Chelsea fans: can Jose prise the lad away from Goodison?
