PICTURE: Arsenal’s best available XI vs United

Arsenal United

Repeat the trick?

Arsenal suffered a shock defeat against Swansea as their recent, imperious run of form came to a juddering halt.

Swansea are a decent team of course but there did appear to be a lack of urgency about Arsenal, who may have let a little complacency creep in after such a fine run.

Perhaps the most telling part of the game was that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger names the same side for the fifth consecutive game. That’s the first time in 20 years that this has happened.

So it’s a largely settled side and, despite the setback at The Emirates, perhaps we should expect Wenger to stick with his guns for a tough trip to Old Trafford. But we think a few changes would freshen things up.

United have all but qualified for The Champions League but they will be desperate to win this one in an attempt to avoid fourth spot and a tricky qualifying match early season.

So Arsenal will need to be on their game to avoid a second defeat. But they did outplay United at Old Trafford earlier this season so the omens are good.

Our one big change to the side is to oust Ozil, who has done very little since his spectacular free kick against Liverpool. Our side is more solid with the pace of Walcott to make both of Arsenal’s flank really dangerous.

Here is our Arsenal XI for the game. Gunners fans: let’s have your elevens.

What complete garbage, Ozil is our best player. It is the first time we have lost this year 2015 with Ozil in the team. There is no way Wenger would drop our best player, you are obviously a Manc supporter hoping Ozil is not in the team. No chance.

yes he did leave out our best plyer but thats coq. you must be mentally challenged to think we were winning because of that useless lazy junk lowzil.
because of him two of our best players corzola and ramsey are put out of position by spineless wenger. For that big adjustment returns must be extraordinary and yet they have not been ordinary also. plus goal scoring(which counts) threat of ramsey gone

Ya agree with jordangooner, what a complete garbage article.

If this is your job, you’re causing loss to your employer. If this is your hobby, then you need to find another one.

I’d have to agree with jordangooner. Ozil is brilliant and has been since he returned. The entire team was passive for most of the game. If you want to hand the blame on anyone, hang it on the guys who got chances and flat missed. Walcott’s done nothing since he came fit. It’s only been a couple of games, so there’s no point in blaming him, but he and Giroud got chances in the second half, but didn’t do much with them.

The first half, however, was an utter snooze-fest. Swansea sat back and sat back and sat back and Arsenal screwed around with the ball and did little to put them under pressure. Dullest game of the year.

Wenger’s tactics are straight forward and predictable. He likes to pass the ball endlessly and keep possession 99%.
Swansea did the right thing and got 3 points. In football, winning is the all important thing not now you win.
Wenger has to learn to win ugly and be street smart. If he aint careful,Arsenal could finish 4th.
At any top club that would be a disaster and the manager has to pay the price.

Not sure what games you have been watching lately but Ozil is our game changer. His ability with the exception of Sanchez is way ahead of anyone else in the team. Contrary to common belief you do not have to run around all game like a headless chicken, falling over every time you are touched to be a great player. You need ability which I am afraid is something a Mr Walcott is very short on.

arsenal simply cant wib nothing with same orthodox style of football for years. wenger is just not dynamic enough to change anu game plan ubder pressure. thats why beating Chelsea is almost impossible.
