Pace to burn

Amidst a maelstrom of transfer rumours pertaining to Chelsea, we think that this one makes more sense than most.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho blooming loves a mobile winger cum forward who can play anywhere across the front line, score goals and, most importantly, has pace to burn. Hazard has it. Schurrle didn’t.

But The Telegraph reports that just such a player could be interested in a move to Chelsea this summer:

Antoine Griezmann is open to a summer move to Chelsea and is keen to find out whether the Premier League champions will make a serious bid to sign him.

He’s got a whopping €59m buy out clause and his club, Atletico Madrid, are trying to renegotiate a his contract after a stellar start to his career at the club. But the player is assessing his options before committing to a new deal.

You would have to say that Griezmann would be a wonderful addition to the Chelsea side. He’s a natural athlete – strong and well built with a low centre of gravity. But he is also technically gifted, direct and confident. He may represent an upgrade on the not inconsiderable talents of Juan Cuadrado and Willian on the right flank for Chelsea next season.

Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Chelsea fans: is he that much better than what you currently have in the squad?

Chelseafc should act fast to grab Griezman at all cost, even if he happens to b the only signing in the summer.
