Newcastle offer contract to pacey forward: No.1 summer target?

Classy

John Carver seems like a decent chap. But he’s hardly proven himself to be the next Jose Mourinho and, perhaps not helped by the trouble off the pitch, the team just isn’t playing for him.

Many Newcastle fans would surely argue that the club needs a new owner, a new manager and new players, in that order. And we would be inclined to agree. There is a fine balance to be struck between business and football and Newcastle just haven’t found it.

When these issues do get sorted it will be time to consider squad reinforcement – a club which fills it’s 52,405 capacity most weeks (until the recent boycott of course) should be able to afford and attract top players.

One of the names that seems to be coming to the fore in terms of Newcastle transfers is Andre Ayew. Reports late this week state that the club will pull out all the stops to trump their rivals on this transfer:

Newcastle make Andre Ayew approach in bid to beat Liverpool, Everton and Swansea to Ghana star

The 25-year-old is out of contract at Marseille this summer and Newcastle have offered him a four year contract to finalise a move to Tyneside

Why Ayew Man!

Why Ayew Man!

Ayew looks very much the sort of player that Newcastle fans would eventually idolise. He’s a flair forward who just loves to run at defenders at pace. The 25 year old winger has scored 11 in 62 for Ghana and has hit an impressive 57 in just over 180 games for Marseille.

He’d be an excellent addition – just the sort of signing to get Newcastle motoring again.

Let’s see him in action.
