Smart business: Chelsea scout 25 year old international ahead of summer transfer window

Great Player

There is seldom smoke without fire in the transfer market and if you read the papers you will now that there has been a lot of hype surrounding Chelsea and midfield signings this summer.

With the weight of specco surrounding this one, we would be surprised if Chelsea didn’t start the new season with at least one more man for the engine room.

There has been a lot of talk about Paul Pogba and Koke of Atletico Madrid. But, while these guys would be fantastic signings, the club may have to sell half of their squad in order to find such moves.

A much smarter signing would be the superb Morgan Schneiderlin. The Saints midfielder has been often linked with Arsenal but The Telegraph reports that Chelsea have scouted him of late and may turn to him as a more feasible summer option. They say:

Arsenal have been confident of landing Schneiderlin in the summer and are sure to make a bid for the Frenchman at the end of the season.

But having watched the 25-year-old in action at Goodison Park, Chelsea are weighing up whether to make a rival offer and leave Schneiderlin with a difficult decision to make.

Schneiderlin has impressed us hugely over the last couple of years. We thought of him as a mobile anchor man but, in fact, he is a much more complete midfielder who has a super passing range and can score great goals. He’s a dream of a player and whoever signs him this summer – we sense that a move is inevitable – will be getting a bargain.

Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Chelsea fans: a decent bet or a slightly disappointing alternative to Poggers?
