This one will doubtless be music to the ears of Chelsea fans who are wondering how the club will move forward after the Champions League disappointment of this season.
Jose Mourinho plays a very clear formation of 4-2-3-1 and that requires two electric and athletic wide men either side of the number ten. With Eden Hazard now amongst the best players in the world on one side, who better to join him on the other flank than Raheem Sterling?
The Daily Mail today reports that Chelsea are joining the queue for the sublime youngster:
Chelsea join Arsenal and Manchester City in race for Raheem Sterling
Chelsea are poised to join the heavyweight battle for English football’s hottest property Raheem Sterling.
We believe that every top team in the world would be interested in signing the lad. He’s got ridiculous pace and can destroy defences with his quick feet. While his finishing needs to improve, at 20 years of age, it’s not impossible to imagine that he could one day become one of the top 3 players in the world.
But we also believe that his current club still holds all the aces. There has been a lot of hype about a move of late and that has clearly unsettled the player. But, whatever Brendan Rodger’s arguable foibles as a manager, he seems to largely have a very good relationship with his players and can surely persuade Raheem that his immediate future lies at a club where he can continue his development without the pressure of an enormous price tag.
Let’s see the little genius in action. Chelsea fans: perfect signing?
