Shock: Manchester United star wants to leave the club

United fans are yet to see the best of Di Maria

Bad News

The Mail on Sunday sets all Manchester United fans off to a bad start on this massive footballing day by stating that Angel di maria wants to leave the club this summer.

The unsettled Argentinian superstar joined Manchester United for a decent Cheshire home less than £60m but an attempted burglary and 8 months of decidedly dodgy form later, he has apparently told his representatives that eh wants out.

The Mail reports:

The truth is, Di Maria didn’t want to join United in the first place. And Football Grapevine understands that rather than want to ‘prove’ himself under Louis van Gaal the Argentine has told his advisers he wants out.

Football Grapevine understands, however, that Di Maria still wants to play for PSG and that is now on the cards – although his value will have dropped into the £30million bracket.

We shall get a better indication of whether there is anything in this story when we see the team sheets for Manchester United vs Liverpool later today.

If Di Maria has been immediately returned to the starting line up after his one game suspension then we make assume that the story is wide of the mark. But a bench role or even less for the megastar and it could be the beginning of the end.

Di Maria started his Manchester United career brightly but has not found his rhythm in this spluttering team and few could argue that he has justified the fee so far.

We think that Manchester United should try to do a swap for Gareth Bale in the summer with a club which still holds the player in high esteem.

Manchester United fans: mere tabloid talk or is there more to this one?

It’s only because he’s not playing well. If he’d carried on like he started no one would of said anything.

You only need to read as far as ‘Mail on Sunday’ to know it’s just a made up tabloid story. If that paper says Manchester starts with M, I’d check.
