When you consider Arsenal’s creative midfield options – Ramsey, Wilshere, Cazorla, Ozil, Sanchez, Walcott etc – it’s almost impossible to conceive that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger would want to invest in more.
But The Frenchman clearly falls asleep at night thinking about number tens and reports suggest that he is keen on yet another.
The Mirror states:
Charles Aranguiz scouted since last summer as Arsene Wenger mulls over move
The 25 year old has played 31 times for Chile, and has come to the fore in recent times, since his international debut in 2010. He provided an assist in The World Cup and also scored one himself as Chile beat Spain in the round of 16.
He only signed for Brazilian outfit International in the summer of 2014 but has had a great season for them – scoring 10 in 37 matches – and Arsenal are apparently keen.
Quite where they would fit him into the side remains to be seen. To sign another creative midfielder Wenger would surely have to offload a couple this summer. The current roster of stars would surely dissuade Aranguiz from joining the club, give the paucity of game time that he might expect in a squad replete with creators.
We think that Arsenal should be concentrating on the front and back of the team rather than the sensational middle. But that is a long held criticism of Arsene Wenger.
Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Arsenal fans: One too many?
