Easily the worst Manchester United player vs Burnley

Evans - Time for a change

Several to choose from

Let’s face it. The race for ‘worst Manchester United player’ against Burnley was a hotly contested competition. The team which gives the same, lifeless performance every week had so many passengers during this game.

Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie were anonymous. Adnan Januzaj rarely beat his man. Even the usually decent Wayne Rooney gave the ball away regularly and will not be happy with his performance – albeit in a game where he was played out of position and ended up as the anchor man.

But the worst player on the park, by some margin, was surely Jonny Evans. In what has been a disastrous season for the Northern Irishman he looked, last night, as if his head had completely gone. This was a man who was supposed to become the first choice centre back at Manchester United this season. The guy who was to take the reins from the previous greats and, at 27, show his importance to the side.

But he continued his appalling run of form and must have passed the ball straight to the opposition (in unforced errors) 4 times during the 90 minutes.

It was mistake after mistake from Evans and a better team would have taken Manchester United to the cleaners. And the performance of Evans can’t have gone unnoticed by Louis van Gaal. Rag Doll Phil Jones got injured yet again and this may give Evans a stay of execution. But we think that the Manchester United manager is more likely to play Smalling and Rojo at centre back from now on.

Evans has had multiple chances to impress this season and he has taken none of them. We think that his time at Manchester United could be coming to an end unless he improves sharply.

Johnny Evans should be ashamed of himself wearing a United shirt. He must be off landed asap.I’m sure LVG realizes this.It would have been nice to have Vidic back when they had the chance…

The whole team has disintegrated under Van Gaal…….Good players have become average and average have become worse……You do not become a bad player overnight, but Evans flowing distribution of 2 years ago has disappeared because of 2 reasons. There is no movement up front or anywhere, there is no off the ball running which started under Moyes and Van Gaal has drilled in to the players to keep possession .Buying a new central defender will not solve the lack of confidence in the team. So to pencil out one player is rather immature and unhelpful.
It is the training started under Moyes and continued by the current ego, currently treating Man United as an expensive toy to be recast in his own egotistical image.
Phelen and Meulensen should have been tthere still. We have made 2 gross errors of judgement in these 2 managers and we now have the worst United team since the war. We are slow from the kick-off, lack ideas and the whole atmosphere has spread. They are over-trained.The fitness coach has been moved aside another Van Gaal decision. We tinkered with 3 at the back and the midfield diamond. So lay off Evans. His performances have not been good but neither has Smalling or Jones. He came through the ranks .He is United through and through .How we are in 3rd is beyond belief, but currently Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs, and Southampton are better teams than us. So if LVG does not make the top 4, we have got ourselves a very big problem.
Look to the heart of the matter, not the symptons.

No, you were wrong. Evans was not the worst player against Burnley. HE IS ALWAYS THE WORST PLAYER EVEYTIME, AGAINST EVERY TEAM he “plays” against. Just don’t understand how he’s paid big money in Man Utd for being the worst consistently. If LVG can’t see that, that would be a serious worry.

Phil Jones before his injury was terrible. And he was on only for a few minutes imagine if he played the entire 90 minutes he’d be up there with j.Evans

You’re wrong! LVG is the worst man of the day. He has 4 midfielders at his disposal yet keeps playing Rooney out of position.
