Newcastle could definitely do with a boost, after the comings and goings of this month, at what has become a very turbulent institution.
And reports today suggest that Newcastle are still keen on bringing a brilliant young forward, Pierre-Michel Lasogga, to the club. The BBC says
Newcastle chase German striker
And his club, Hamburg, have added fuel to the fire with Sporting Director Peter Knabel quoted as saying that:
“There have been requests, but no offer.”
The 23 year old centre forward looks like a natural in front of the goal – he has scored plenty wherever he has played, including 15 in 36 league games for Hamburg, 25 in 69 for Hertha Berlin and 4 in 11 for the German U21 national side.
And he isn’t scoring them in a mickey mouse league either. The Bundesliga is certainly one of the more competitive leagues in world football and a great stepping stone for a move to England as both leagues are physical and quick. Furthermore, German national football is at the peak of its powers right now and the football education in the country clearly has a big part to play. Lasogga will have benefitted greatly from this.
With Alan Pardew leaving the club we think that the signing of a brilliant young player like this could really set Newcastle back on course for a top half finish this season.
Let’s take look at the lad in action. Newcastle fans: would you want another striker to join the club right now or should you be concentrating on other areas of the team.
