We think that, with the departure of Samuel Eto’o, Everton look a little light up top. They have various, adaptable forwards, who can step into the striker role.
But if Romelu Lukaku gets injured the club will have Kone and Naismith as their main strikers for the run in.
So why not take a punt on Alexandre Pato? He has fallen off the pace big time over the last few years. But they do say class is permanent and this guy was being heralded a world superstar a couple of campaigns ago.
At 25 he would have a sell on value if any deal to Everton was permanent. And, while expectations would be fairly low, he could turn into a crucial conjurer of goals for the club as it looks for a place in Europe next season.
The Daily Mail reports that the player has been offered to Everton:
Everton have been offered Brazil striker Alexandre Pato as a possible replacement for Samuel Eto’o who has joined Sampdoria.
The 25-year-old Pato was pushed to QPR last week while Hull City have also shown an interest.
Pato isn’t a dynamic forward. But he offers really good technique and football intelligence. If he can stay fit there is nothing to stop him from becoming a regular first teamer at Everton.
Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Everton fans: would you like to see what he’s got or wait for a better option to come along in the summer?
