Newcastle haven’t been in great form since Alan Pardew left the club and we are concerned that any decision to wait until the summer for a permanent replacement could be more detrimental to the club.
It’s never straightforward being a Newcastle fan is it?
Anyway, on a brighter note, the club does appear to be pressing on with some kind of recruitment policy. The latest reports suggest that Newcastle are close to doing a deal for a pacy Spanish forward.
The Sunderland Echo reports:
NEWCASTLE United are hoping to sign Spanish forward David Concha – with a little help from Ayoze Perez.
The club are understood to be in advanced talks with Racing Santander over a deal for the talented 18-year-old
He’s quick, has nice feet and can play as a striker or a winger. His adaptability could prove key to getting a look in to the first team.
The report suggests that the player has been shown around the training ground by another new recruit, Ayoze Perez, and that he has been offered a five year deal to join the club. But he will apparently be loaned back to his club, Racing Santander, until the end of the season if a deal is concluded.
In other reports, Newcastle are also said to be close to doing a deal for fellow Spanish U19 international Jorge Mere, a 17 year old centre back from Sporting Gijon.
Let’s take a look at Concha in action – you can see him scoring a goal around the 3 minute mark on the clip.
