Anyone who saw the Juan Cuadrado to Chelsea story as simple hype will be feeling less confident now. Because this one has been simmering all weekend and the latest is that Sky Sources have reported on Monday afternoon that the player wants to join Chelsea:
Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado has made it clear he wants to join Chelsea, Sky sources understand.
Chelsea are said to be trying to offer a player in exchange as a sweetener to make the deal happen before the end of the window.
The Daily Mail reports:
Chelsea have offered Mohamed Salah to Fiorentina again as they continue discussions over the £26.8million transfer of Juan Cuadrado.
We think that Salah would be a decent player for Fiorentina, either on loan or as a permanent signing. He hasn’t yet illustrated the finesse required to be a top Premier League player. But the raw materials are there and he still has a big future if he can get some game time and good coaching. He’s got that vital commodity of great pace and decent feet, which should make him an attractive addition.
As for Chelsea, they are clearly far more careful about balancing the books these days and are therefore being less frivolous with their cash. But a release clause of £26.8m seems reasonable for a player of this proflie and we think that they should be paying the fee in full if they really want Cuadrado – he could prove to be the difference between first and second for Chelsea this season.
Let’s see Cuadrado doing his thing in Italy. Chelsea fans: could this signing be a game changer or aren’t you that fussed if the deal doesn’t happen.

Cuadrado may make a wonderful addition, but let Mou break the Bank for Pogba, please
