If reports are to be believed then this could be Everton’s next signing. A tabloid suggests today that Everton are in talks over the signing of a new keeper.

The Sun says:

EVERTON have started talks with Orjan Nyland over a £5.5million deal.

The Molde keeper has been identified as the long-term successor to Tim Howard at Goodison Park.

Nyland is just 24 years of age but already a commanding presence in goal for Molde having played 69 times for the club since his move there in 2013. Ok, it’s not The Premier League and it’s never certain that a player can make the step up in class. But there is only one way to find out and the only way to snare a real bargain in today’s game is to take a risk now and then.

And the portents are good as Nyland has cemented his place in goal for Norway since his debut in 2013. He’s currently on ten caps.

Tim Howard has been a great keeper for Everton. He’s strong, loves Everton and has rarely let them down during his time in between the sticks. It’s easy replacing a poor player but difficult to bring in someone to succeed a top one. But Howard’s time at the club is coming to an end and Nyland looks as if he has the personality to take the American’s place.

Let’s have a look at the lad in a action. Everton fans: can he fill the gloves of the brilliant Yank?
