The agent of David de Gea, Jorge Mendes, has added fuel to the fires of speculation which suggest that the brilliant keeper may eventually move to Real Madrid, by offering ambivalent words about his client. When asked about the future of the player he told Marca:
“David is amazing, he’s brilliant,”
“He’s a Man United player and has a contract there. You have to respect that but things change every five minutes.”
This one feels as if it’s going to run and run until the brilliant Spaniard is in between the sticks for Real Madrid. What is quite strange is that his current club still hasn’t agreed a new deal for the lad. With just 18 months left on the contract of such a superstar you would have thought that United would be getting a bit twitchy.
But you would imagine a deal will be tied up pretty soon, even if it’s just to keep his transfer value high. Because De Gea has been regularly linked with Real Madrid over the last year.
The reality is that De Gea will probably return to his native country at some point in his career. He seems to be really enjoying himself in England right now. He is certainly being kept busy with the porous defence at United. We believe that he will play this season and next at the English club before making the biggest decision of his career.
Let’s see him in action. Real Madrid fans: is this move inevitable or would De Gea simply cost too much money to make it a viable move for a goalkeeper?
