Chelsea are making the mouth water at the moment. Swansea aren’t exactly pushovers but the way that Chelsea took them apart yesterday made for exceedingly ominous viewing in terms of the title race.
But it seems that this time Jose Mourinho wants long-term domination. In his last stint at the club he took The Blues to the top for a couple of years. But the squad he is building now looks capable of longer term dominance.
One player who has been persistently linked with Chelsea, but has so far remained elusive, is Luke Modric.
And news today suggests that he may be coming back to The Premier League after all. The Express reports:
MANCHESTER UNITED and Chelsea have been handed a major transfer boost from the unlikely source of Luka Modric’s wife.
According to Francois Gallardo, described as a FIFA agent, Vanja Modric is unhappy in Madrid and could play a major role in her husband’s return to the Premier League.
Gallardo said: “Modric is the engine of Real Madrid, but the problem it is his wife who did not fit into Madrid in Spain.”
The idea of Modric playing alongside Matic in the 2 in front of defence is scary. This would allow Fabregas an even more free role further up the pitch. But with Oscar on fire it’s difficult to know who would make way in this team of gems.
Let’s take look ta Modric in action. Chelsea fans: is Luka still someon who could improve the first XI or is it simply one too many good players to squeeze into the side?
