Manchester United: First rumblings of discontent about Louis van Gaal

The Southampton result was obviously a terrible one for Manchester United, particularly as it came Old Trafford. But let’s not pretend that the performances have been great over the last few weeks. Many people saw this result coming as the team seems to have stalled again despite the return of many hitherto injured stars.

But that game was a watershed moment in terms of some of our readers beginning to suggest that they aren’t happy with Louis van Gaal’s coaching ability and methods.

We have seen words like, ‘proud’ and ‘old’ being used to describe him. Certainly the recent limp performances have been even more worrying than the results.

It’s like Manchester United need to be awoken from their slumber. Even in the last half hour against The Saints, when Manchester United were chasing the game, there seemed to be a lack of urgency and hunger.

But it’s far too early to say that Louis is failing at United. He has just got his best players back and they clearly weren’t match fit against Southampton. Let’s judge Louis when he has been able to put out his best side for 6 games. At this point, he hasn’t even had the chance to work out what that best side is due to a crippling injury list.

Because we all know that success in football is about teamwork, as much as anything. Until the players starts to gel we can’t really know whether this is going to be a great Manchester United vintage or not.

We at soccersweep have begun to question the formation employed by the Dutchman over the last few weeks, as it seems very clunky and could be much more streamlined and simplified with four at the back.

But this is one of the best coaches in the world and he must be left to get on with his job. He wants Manchester United to be successful as much as anyone and we still believe that he knows how to make that happen.

Manchester United fans: still behind Louis?

Look at Southampton´s Koeman:6 of the best sold and no timetables, just results. Van Gaal is an old man trying a system that worked for Holland but doesn´t work here. The best signing would be Simione from Athletico Madrid. Persie and Roonie´s attachments are preventing us from going forward.

Van Gaal is a control freak. Give Januzai and Wilson a chance to thrive with Falcao or Hernandez poaching and we´ll win every time. Drop persie and Rooney: They are the ones impeding us. All we need beyond the above is a couple of Roy Keenes to keep the opposition in order.

United as the biggest club in the world sucks! Gone are the days when football was ours and not enforcing capitalist ideas about the worth of fat cats. No man, capitalist or footballer is worth the money being paid.
Football´s transfers and wages is enforcing our acceptance of the capitalistic managerial system. High managerial or player salaries enforce our acceptance of the same in banking, the utilities(electricity, gas, etc. It is time we stopped supporting United and see their wage bill bankrupt their now perverse system. Let us support our local teams, be it Brighton, Hull , MKDons or whatever.
Let us end this shit now!

Do you remember when Dennis Law broke the transfer record for 110,000 pounds ? Think about it, almost 35 years later with fees approaching 100,000,000 pounds. Are footballers worth so much more? Of course not: the governments who have your care in their heart of hearts have just debased the currency and privatised everything so crooks (often Russian ) can gain acceptance by buying a football club. They stink: it stinks. Turn off,Tune out and laugh as they collapse!”

Remember Bobby Charlton and Paddy Crerand? That was what made me a United fan. Those days are gone. Let us crush the Glaziers and desert them until we can restore our identity. Let them suck their losses so we can buy pennies on the pound and start to build ourselves up once more. Chelsea´s Marino ans Southampton´s Koeman are the premier league´s best by miles.

Van Gaal makes United a geriatric squad with his excessive training. How can a striker have a burst of speed when he has to run all over the pitch defending?
As for their medical team, they are clueless. Offered therapies they don´t respond as they want to preserve their interests. United are just too big, but not too big to fail. Stop supporting them and when their shares collapse buy them and we´ll rebuild without banker Woodward or -anker Van Gaal
