Will Manchester United take a punt on €95m man?

Barcelona have bought brilliantly

Too Good

Manchester United have had a lion’s share of the best players in The Premier League since its inception over 20 years ago.

But there have obviously still been players who fans of the club have desperately coveted. Alan Shearer and Paul Gascoigne would have been super Manchester United players.

When Fernando Torres was in his pomp he could have scored 40 goals in a season with the service provided at United.

And, last year in particular, the performances of Luis Suarez made some onlookers green with envy.

At times his form was so good that it was almost like watching a cartoon, where the normal parameters of physics didn’t apply.

The Uruguayan, who moved to Barca in the summer for 95.6m Euros, would scare a goal that you thought couldn’t be bettered before banging in an even more ridiculous one the following week. His speed, creativity and tenacity were perfect for The Premier League.

Reports over the last few days have suggested that Suarez may move back to The Premier League after an average season far in Spain and Barca under performing.

The Daily Mail says:

Despite just three goals in 12 games since his move from Anfield in the summer, his situation at Barcelona will be monitored by the top clubs in the Barclays Premier League.

Manchester United have some superb strikers at the club. But if they lack one particular quality, it’s pace. RvP has never had that much, while Wayne Rooney and Radamel Falcao have lost some of theirs in their late twenties.

With his affiliations to Merseyside, a move to Manchester United would be tantamount to sacrilege. It might even leave a bad taste in the mouth of some of the most conscientious United fans who could imagine how they would feel if the boot was on the other foot.

But, in footballing terms, Manchester United couldn’t do much better than to add this guy.

Let’s see some of his better moments. United fans: any chance at all?
