Arsenal will be one of the busier clubs in the market this January and it’s not only arrivals on the cards. Latest reports seem to all but confirm that Lukas Podolski will have his medical on Saturday and join Inter on loan until the end of the season after being pictured wearing an Inter scarf as he arrived for talks in Italy on Friday.

The BBC states:

Lukas Podolski: Arsenal star flies to Milan for talks with Inter

Lukas Podolski moved a step closer to leaving Arsenal after travelling to Italy for talks with Inter Milan.

And The Guardian opines:

Arsenal’s Lukas Podolski arrives in Italy to complete Internazionale move

He is expected to have a medical on Saturday and sign until the end of the season, with Inter believed to have an option to make the deal permanent in the summer.

While Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has appeared keen to hold on to a player who was part of Germany’s victorious World Cup squad in the summer, few footballers of such calibre have been frozen out at The Emirates quite so emphatically in recent years as the 29 year old striker.

The forward has made 81 appearances for Arsenal over the last three seasons and has a really decent goal tally of 31 in that time. But he has been regularly shunted out wide and many of those appearances have been from the bench. A player of this profile was never going to remain happy with that treatment and he looked over the moon to be in Italy (Picture courtesy of Inter Milan official website)

He may not be Arsene’s cup of tea but he’s an excellent signing for Inter and we think he’ll be a big success in Serie A.

Let’s see some of his better moments for Arsenal.

AW do sign inexperienced players and do cries when big clubs beat him up. Big shame!
