It’s been a very busy news cycle for Chelsea. Not only have they rounded off their Champions League autumn with a win but rumours abound about potential comings and goings at the club.
Fernando Torres
We always felt that if Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho couldn’t sort this lad’s head out and get him scoring again then noone could. This theory has been partially proven by his poor form at AC Milan. He’s scored just 1 goal in ten Serie A games and, what was supposed to be a two year loan, may be cut short. The Express says:
Jose Mourinho moved to sign Diego Costa, Loic Remy and Didier Drogba during the same transfer window, but could find Torres back at Cobham in January as reports claim that the Spaniard is set to leave Italy.
Thorgan Hazard
We have been hearing really good things about Eden’s brother during his loan spell away from Chelsea. But there is a limit to how many Chelsea can cater for and they already have innumerable players out on loan. The Daily Mail reports:
Thorgan Hazard open to leaving Chelsea permanently after Bundesliga loan switch
They quote him as saying:
‘It’s an option to stay at Gladbach longer. But it’s just too early to talk about it now,’
‘The decision will be made towards the end of the season. I feel great here.’
And finally, in more exciting transfer news, Chelsea are said to be tracking the sizzling youngster Daniel Agyei. The 17 year old AFC Wimbledon striker has been on fire this season and apparently caught the attention of Jose. The Mirror reckons:
Chelsea are monitoring the progress of AFC Wimbledon’s prolific teenager striker Daniel Agyei.
The 17-year-old has already scored 22 goals for the Dons’ U21 side this season and there is a chance he could be loaned back if Mourinho swoops
We can’t see how Torres has much of a future at Chelsea – particularly with the competition for places up top right now. If he can’t thrive in the slower paced Italian league then you do worry about how he will cope in England or Spain. Perhaps a return to Atletico beckons. But, with a year and half still on his contract, Chelsea have a problem.
As for Hazard, we think that Jose is still keen. Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Blues fans: keep or ditch?
