Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham are looking a little uninspired right now and, after a slow start in the market over the summer, the coach will surely get some help from the window in January.
In fairness we think that Pochettino was right not to jump into the market. There is a lot of mediocrity out there and Tottenham have enough of that already.
A good window would surely represent the signing of another defender and striker. A top forward will be difficult to acquire mid-season but Tottenham could have more luck in bolstering their back line.
One player who could well move is Virgil Van Dijk. The Celtic player has been linked with Arsenal and Tottenham are now said to be keen:
SPURS are set to enter the January transfer chase for Celtic’s £10million-rated defender Virgil Van Dijk.
The 23 year old only joined Celtic from Groningen in 2013 for £2.6m but the general consensus is that he would make the set up to The Premier League with ease.
He’s a commanding and athletic centre-back with an eye for goal – he scored 7 in 62 league games for Groningen and already has 7 league goals in 49 games for Celtic.
It does appear that, before long, he will be on his way to The Premier League and having missed out on signing him for Southampton, new Tottenham scout Paul Mitchell may fancy another pop.
Let’s see the lad in action. Tottenham fans: the defensive solution?
