Manchester City seem to have made a handy habit of beating their rivals to the punch over the last few seasons.
Even Sir Alex’s comments about the noisy neighbours seem as if they were made in a different era, before the power shift had really kicked in.
In truth this competition is what makes The Premier League different and better than La Liga, which often turns out to be a procession. United are coming back once more and we think that the title race will be tighter than many have predicted after Chelsea’s great start. Mourinho’s men have a crazy December in terms of fixtures and this could be a real leveller.
And, if reports are to be believed, Manchester City could be about to trump their biggest rivals for a whizzkid who has been training at Carrington for the last few months.
The Daily Mail reports:
United believed they were close to reaching agreement but it is understood the player’s father is now considering an approach from rivals City and he could sign if negotiations go well over the coming weeks.
The battle for supremacy is being fought in ever broader parameters. Now there are 15 year olds involved!
But this kid is said to be exceptionally good and Benefica were gutted to lose him. He is also said to have impressed United during his time at their club.
He’s so tiny right now that we can’t even bring you any video footage. But the matter should be resolved either way soon and Manchester City currently look in a good position to sign the lad.
