As we know Mikel Arteta, Jack Wilshere and Yaya Sanogo have been added to the Arsenal injury list of late.
But there was some really positive news in Arsene Wenger’s weekly press conference when he said:
‘January might be a month when we have nearly everybody back because (Laurent) Koscielny is back in the squad, (Mathieu) Debuchy will be back I think in two weeks,’ added Wenger.
Debuchy will provide much needed experience when he returns to the fold but the news that Laurent Koscielny is fit again will come as great relief to Arsenal fans. Such has been the paucity of central defenders that Nacho Montreal has suffered a spell there of late.
Depending on how long and well he’s been training Koscielny may even play on Saturday. He’s the most important member of the defence. Arsene Wenger must surely be keen to reignite the Mertesacker partnership as quickly as possible after some really dodgy defending of late. And no team in The Premier League gets an easy game at West Brom who have a decent home record and the brilliant Said Berahino available despite his brush with the police in the week.
If Koscielny is ready then we see the team shaping up like this. Arsenal fans: let’s have your thoughts on the best possible line up for the game at West Brom.
