Ok it’s not exactly a signing. But sometimes it’s good to know that your manager has the right ideas where it comes to players – especially if that coach is Arsenal man Arsene Wenger.
Because many would argue that he hasn’t taken proper care with his engine room over the last decade.
And the galloping box-to-box presence of someone like Paul Pogba would surely add great character to that area of the park.
Wenger said of the brilliant Frenchman:
“We were interested by Pogba when he was at Manchester [United]”
“We tried to get him, but it was complicated. I was surprised to see Manchester let him go. We did not have the right to contact him.”
Arsenal regularly play in a 4-2-3-1 and it would be ideal to see Pogba sitting alongside a real beast like Sami Khedira in front of the defence.
With those two in the current side Arsenal would be certainties for silverware.
At 21 years if age Pogba is now a stalwart for club and country. He’s scored 5 goals in 21 games for France since his debut in 2013. And he’s already one of the first names on the team sheet at Juventus.
But you feel that there is at least one more upward move on the cards for Pogba.
And perhaps it’s not too late for Wenger to bring the young star to The Emirates.
