We have spoken on this subject several times of late. Real Madrid are in their best form for years and, while their have been watery rumours about the addition of a midfielder over the next 12 months, the only obvious area for improvement of this marvellous team is in between the sticks.
We want to remember Iker Casillas as the great that he was. Although he has enjoyed something of a mini-revival (that means now high profile blunders to speak of in the last few weeks) we think that Real Madrid need to sign a top stopper.
Casillas is a club legend and should stay at the club as a number two, ambassador and mentor to the youngsters. But his time as Number 1 is surely coming to an end.
Reports around Europe today suggest that Real Madrid are preparing a bid for the superb Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris. French media outlet Le Figaro says:
An offer of 25m Euros raised
Various names have been thrown about in relation to Madrid’s next keeper. Having seen Lloris play many times in England we are convinced that he would be a superb addition to the team. He’s got similar presence to Manuel Neuer but is possibly even better with his feet.
Let’s see him in action. Real Madrid fans: would this be your choice of realistic targets?
