Big Player

Manchester City will use the derby victory as a springboard in The Premier League and Europe. You could see that there were nerves towards the end of the game on Sunday but the result should provide the confidence to go on a good run into the new year.

And reports today suggest that Manchester City will have a big boost for their title charge as a new signing will be staying longer than expected. The Express reports:

FRANK LAMPARD will spend the whole season at Manchester City – earning a whopping £190,000-a-week.

Many thought that Lampard was past it having been offloaded by Chelsea in the summer. But he has fitted in at Manchester City seamlessly and proven beyond doubt that he can still be a big player in this league. His eye for goal is as sharp as ever and he’s a natural athlete who hasn’t been weakened in his career by serious injury.

Jose must be kicking himself right now because Lampard could be a key ingredient in the title race if he does indeed stay on at Manchester City. And how typical it would be of this supremely dramatic league if Lampard went on to seal the title for City.

Manchester City fans: do you want Frank to stay?
