Superstar

Manchester United proved beyond doubt in the summer that they can still acquire top players who are in their prime. Of course, on of the main reasons that Angel di Maria and and Radamel Falcao came to United was because of the money that the club were prepared to spend.

But the name Manchester United still has resonance throughout the football world, regardless of their current tribulations.

Recent reports suggest that Manchester United are keen on signing Dani Alves from Barcelona after the player reportedly stated that he would like to play in The Premier League.

“next season I will be playing in England”

He’s had a fabulous career but, at 31 and with huge wages required, surely United aren’t that desperate? And, as young versions of Alves go, they don’t come any more similar than Rafael da Silva. Alves is regarded as a far more accomplished player going forward. But we believe that if Rafael can get an injury free run in the side he can be every bit as good as Alves in attack and defence.

Rafale da Sliva has the potential to new the dream right back for United – buccaneering, tenacious, quick and skillful. We have already seen the impetuous side of the player rear its ugly head at Leicester. But if he can add a bit more composure and finally iron out the impatience, he can be as good as anything around.

Rafa just needs some consistency. So, thanks Dani, but no thanks.
