Good buy

You would have thought that the nerves of the fans had been frayed enough over the summer months for any more transfer rumours to surface right now.

But Real Madrid are a club that is constantly on the move and, if reports are to be believed, they have started to put their shopping list together for January in their continued attempts to mould a team of perfect balance. And after an uncertain start to the season, they may buy bigger than expected.

We don’t understand why Sami Khedira isn’t seen as the main man in midfield. Sure, he was out for a long time, but proved his fitness and value to the team with a fantastic performance in Brazil at The World Cup. It’s a real shame for him that he’s been injured again fro around 6 weeks.

But he was constantly linked to a move in the summer, which suggests that he isn’t central to Madrid’s plans, and perhaps Carlo Ancelotti feels he doesn’t have good enough technique for Real. Because another midfielder is being linked with a move today. Sky Italia have reported that Real Madrid are planning a 15m Euro swoop for the German, who they see as a perfect partner for fellow countryman Toni Kroos in the engine room.

The 23 year old Bayer Leverkusen player is in his second year of a loan spell at Borussia Mönchengladbach and has been playing brilliantly of late.

The midfielder has also reportedly drawn admiring glances from Manchester United in recent times.

Let’s take a really brief glimpse of him in action. Real Madrid fans: do you need to sign another central midfielder or does the answer to the midfield problem lie within the current squad?
