Aston Villa have reportedly made contact with Chelsea as they look to bring in Victor Moses.
According to The Telegraph the club been in touch with the London side and are awaiting a response.
While Mourinho is unlikely to want to see the player leave permanently, he may be receptive to a season-long loan deal.
Moses is unlikely to get regular football at Chelsea. Players like Eden Hazard, Willian, Oscar and André Schurrle are all above him in the pecking order. This means that if he wants to play regular football he will have to look to move to another club.
The 23-year-old winger has had a tough time since leaving Wigan Athletic in 2012. He has only made 43 appearances for the side, with a large proportion of those being in domestic and European cup competitions.
Having struggled to establish himself in the starting eleven, he spent a season on loan at Liverpool last year. However, he also failed to nail down a regular spot, making most of his appearances from the bench.
Lambert could face competition to bring the winger to Aston Villa though, with reported interest from a number of other clubs including Everton, Newcastle and West Brom.
The club had a disappointing season in The Premier League last year, although they did avoid being dragged into a relegation fight for the most part. Having already brought in a number of reinforcements, Lambert will be hoping that the addition of Moses will increase their attacking threat.
The wide man should be able to help stretch defences and make room for other players. This should mean that the team as a whole gets more goal scoring opportunities as opposition players are pulled out of position.
Let’s see the lad in action. Aston Villa fans: an exciting potential addition?
