Arsenal: A transfer rumour you don’t want to hear?

Get him in

We have spoken many times about this potential move but it seems to draw very differing responses from Arsenal fans.

Some really like the idea of it others are full of ire at the suggestion of Mario Balotelli coming to Arsenal.

We like Olivier Giroud but Ballotelli is a better forward than anything Arsenal currently have.

He’s an A-list striker who can change games out of nothing.

Yes, he has a short fuse, and that seems to be what worries Arsenal fans. But there is a fine line between ingenuity and insanity.

Providing Arsene Wenger can channel Balotelli’s aggression in the right way then Arsenal will add a completely new string to their bow. There is no reason why Mario couldn’t have a massive influence on the club.

So we think it’s strange that a lot of Arsenal fans seem to be turning their noses up at this transfer. The Express reckons, that after dragging their heels on the Remy deal Arsenal may be back in for Mario. They say:

Remy is now heading to the USA – where Liverpool are on their pre-season tour – for a medical ahead of an £8.5million move.

And according to reports, Arsenal are again exploring a deal for Italy star Balotelli.

The same report quotes Wenger as saying that he doesn’t need any more strikers. While we are inclined to believe that Arsene is being truthful, we think he’s off his chops.

If Arsenal want to win the league and Champions League they will need more up top than Giroud, Sanogo and Podolski. Unless he plans to use Sanchez and Walcott as centre forwards of course. But that would severely limit Arsenal’s potency on the flanks.

In short, unless Wenger believes that Balotelli is such a bad apple that he will unsettle the whole club, then we think he should definitely take a punt.

Arsenal fans: still anti-Balotelli even though Arsene looks to have missed out on Remy?

Really isn’t that strange that we wouldn’t want him. How many other (supposed) A-list strikers have you heard of that have never managed 20 goals in a season?
Add to that his grating personality, and capability to go missing in quite a lot of games. Not someone i’d want any time soon tbh.

remy is a convicted banned drink driver and has been up on rape charges . i think that says everything why we didnt sign him. much more suited to liverpool where he can be brendas new suarez .
balotelli is a risk but is away better than remy .

Let’s stop all this wishful thinking, why would we want a proven goalscorer in our team after all we let the best striker in the world in the person of Mr N Bentder leave the club.Surely we only sign players of his quality. But we can always dream of having world class players.
