Real Madrid have been comparatively quiet in the market so far this summer. We are used to seeing them spending megabucks on a star name and being the biggest annual spenders in Europe.
That is not to say that they haven’t bought well. In Tony Kroos we think that they have acquired the signing of the summer.
But many people would argue that it’s Real Madrid’s next potential signing who is going to be the main man.
Because there is intensifying speculation that Monaco forward James Rodriguez will be the clubs marquee signing in this transfer window.
A deal of around £60 million seems ever more likely as Real Madrid attempt to improve their already superb forward line.
The Daily Mail reports on Monday:
James Rodriguez to sign for Real Madrid in £60m deal with World Cup Golden Boot winner’s arrival sparking Premier League rush for La Liga giant’s stars.
Colombia star to sign for Real from Monaco for £60m on Wednesday.
One would imagine that if Rodriguez comes in there will be even less room in the team for Argentinian winger Angel di Maria and Rodriguez’s move will only fuel speculation that the South American is on his way out of Real Madrid.
PSG are said to be the most serious about signing the player so Rodriguez move could set in motion a domino effect on the transfer market.
Let’s see Rodriguez in action again. Real Madrid fans: is this guy worth £60 million and is he better than Di Maria?
