Everton fans will feel that there is a lot more work to be done in the transfer market this summer.
And while they will hope for some accomplished additions to the squad in this window reports today suggest that they are also planning to build from the ground up.
The Daily Express reports:
EVERTON are closing in on MK Dons starlet Brendan Galloway.
He was born in Zimbabwe but Galloway has played at every youth international level up to the U21s for England and has also made 17 appearances for MK dons since his debut in 2011. Yes you are reading correctly – he made his senior debut at 15! In fact he’s the youngest player ever to play for the Dons in a senior competitive game. He came on in the 79th minute of a 6-0 drubbing of Nantwich in the FA Cup.
He’s already 6ft 1in and has played as a both a defender and in midfield in his fledgling career. We think that he will end up as a defender with really good feet.
This potential signing could be good news for Everton. Not only are they bringing in a really promising youngster but the fact that Roberto Martinez is buying youths shows a certain commitment to the long term future of Everton.
With the way that Martinez has started his Everton career we are certain that Toffees fans would happily sign him up to a ten year contract right now.
