Everton: Deal Close – report

Excellent prospect

This is one that has been mooted for some time and it appears that Everton are now close to a deal.

Everton look fairly well set in midfield having signed Gareth Barry on a permanent deal this summer and also having secured the brilliant James McCarthy last autumn. Ross Barkley may end up playing further forward but Leon Osman is an excellent pro and Darron Gibson has also done a good job at Everton when fit.

But a push for The Champions League will require a deep squad and The Daily Star reckons that Everton are close to a £4 million deal for Muhamed Besic.

The 21 year old has taken little time to make a name for himself in senior football playing 47 league games for Ferencvaros since he joined the club in 2012. He’s also forced his way into the international reckoning with 12 caps so far for Bosnia and Herzegovina since his debut in 2010.

The Star says:

The Toffees are polishing off the final details of the transfer with the midfielder’s club Ferencvaros.

That is expected to be sorted within the next 48 hours and they will then be able to start talks with the player.

Besic, 21, is keen on a move to the Premier League and has instructed his agents that Everton is his preferred destination.

We think that Everton need to concentrate on their forward line but Roberto Martinez is clearly looking to add any real quality that comes along and, after his first season at Everton, who are we to disagree!

Let’s see Besic in action: Everton fans: do you like what you see and can Besic make the grade at Goodison?
