We don’t doubt that Chelsea will be in the market for another striker this summer.
But having effectively spent 60+ million pounds on Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas, and with he FIFA Fair Play rules beginning to bite, Chelsea might look for mid-priced signings rather than make making more blockbuster moves.
Costa will be expected to carry the burden as the main striker next season. And perhaps Chelsea will go for some young and hungry players to augment their strike force.
Reports last week suggested that Chelsea were perhaps keen on Pierre Emerick Aubameyang. The Borussia Dortmund striker has been really impressive over the last 12 months, scoring 16 goals in just 37 starts for the club. At 25 years of age he’s coming into his prime.
He’s also smashed in 12 goals in 34 games for a Gabon side which can’t be the easiest team in the world to score goals for.
And Chelsea fans will be interested to know that that the club is currently favourite to sign the player with Bet Victor at odds of 2/1 if he does leave his current club this summer.
Let’s see some of his highlights. Chelsea fans: do you think Aubameyang would be a good addition or would you prefer the club to raise the bar in terms of striker signings this summer?
