As each day passes it would appear ever more likely the Barcelona are going to sign their number one target – a certain Uruguayan who has been in the news quite a bit of late.
Having made an apology to the world for biting Giorgio Chiellini at The World Cup the player has paved the way for a massive move to Barcelona and many believe it to be simply a matter of time before there is serious movement on the deal.
But the fee is going to be a major part of the deal and Barcelona may well not want to pay the £80 million which it may take to snare him.
So it’s a deal which could still be a little bit further off than many might imagine.
Interestingly, English bookmaker Bet Victor still have Barcelona as favourites to sign Sergio Aguero, at odds of 3/1, if he does leave his club this summer.
Aguero has been injured at The World Cup that he is almost as good a player as the Uruguyan. And, of course, he represents a lower risk signing.
Luis is someone who can make something out of nothing and almost makes football look like a cartoon.
Aguero is probably not quite that good but still one of the best strikers in the world. He’s an absolutely deadly player with real speed and amazing shooting ability – he always seems to be one step ahead of the opposition.
So while the main deal does look as if it will eventually go ahead Barcelona may still be thinking of Sergio Aguero as a fall-back option.
