Every summer we talk about an Arsenal rebuild but it doesn’t ever quite happen.
On the flip side Arsenal don’t really need to sign a whole new team of players anyway.
They showed great consistency last season and, apart from the failures against the big boys, they would have been really close to the title.
They just need to add two or three really top players – warriors who can give Arsenal a little bit more steel when required so that they don’t flop like a prawn cracker in water against top opposition – ‘topposition’ if you like.
A lot of long-term targets have been rolled out again by the media over the last 24 hours, according to The Guardian, who suggest that the club have a short list of as many as 8 targets.
We try to separate the wheat from the chaff:
Arsène Wenger wants two more strikers in the next month or so… He has apparently decided Loïc Rémy, Mario Balotelli and Mario Mandzukic are as good as anyone.
We aren’t going to bother Arsenal fans with any more talk of Balotelli. For our money Mandzukic is similar to Olivier Giroud but still a very good player. But Loic Remy looks like a realistic target and Arsenal should do everything they can to get this one completed because they won’t be the only interested party. Remy will offer pace and penetration – particularly on the counter.
Should the Liverpool striker (Suarez) be about to depart for Barcelona or Real Madrid, then Wenger will chase Alexis Sánchez, Karim Benzema and Alvaro Morata
Alexis Sanchez would be a super signing but won’t come cheap as there seem to be many suitors. We think Benzema will stay at Real. As for Morata Juventus have apparently bid 20m Euros. Can you see Wenger offering that much for someone who’s untested in England?
He’s also on the lookout for a new midfielder, and thinks Lars Bender might be his man.
We think that this one is possible to likely – especially if Arsenal are priced out of a move for Arturo Vidal.
Next, he’ll head to Newcastle to lure Mathieu Debuchy down south. Alan Pardew will ask for Carl Jenkinson and a sack of cash in return.
Debuchy had an excellent season last time out and Arsenal could definitely use his pace and solidity at full-back. We can easily imagine this one happening but think that Serge Aurier is an even better player.
So, in summary, we think Arsenal may well go for Remy, Bender, Debuchy and Sanchez but wont bother with Benzema, Mandzukic or Morata.
Arsenal fans: how many of these players do you believe to be serious targets?

i think signing serge aurier, loic remy and las bender is the most appreciable option we have as a club that apreciate youthful. Signing this players is far better cus they are players with hunger for trophy and are ready to do new things as well they arnt expensive.

We are tired of all this news, chelsea has already sign two players, man u one looking for more, liverpool one looking for more;arsenal nothing yet looking for all players in the world,am a die heard arsenal fan our problem is the stingy man called wenger ,i think very soon he will go for rio ferdnand as an exprience player, his philosophy has failed him since 2004 when it was only united and arsenal contesting seriously in all competition with small money;lets forget about wenger and arsenal they r not buying any world class player

JOSEPH! I and many other Gooners agree with your comments
You’ve got this wish he wasn’t ours manager weighed up.
Those sensible Gooners will know that Chelsea!, Man Utd! Man City! Liverpool etc are already getting stronger. Whilst our wish he wasn’t ours manager fiddles in the sand while our club and supporters are crying out for a few top quality signings but knowing too well this wish he wasn’t ours manager waits for the usual cut price bargains meaning we’ll have to wait.
They say be careful what you wish for but I don’t care because I like many other Gooners want this wish he wasn’t ours manager replaced by a top quality one who wouldn’t be afraid to spend the money on the cream which is what my beloved long suffering Arsenal deserve. Bet he’s looking for the usual cut price bargains yawn!
Having said all that I hope Wenger proves me and many other critics wrong but I doubt it…..Sigh!
