Everton eye three major pieces of business – report

Super business?

We think that Everton had a great season defensively last time out but reports today suggest that they are the latest club to join the queue for the brilliant youngster Steven Caulker.

To many it seems strange that Caulker was sold to Cardiff from Tottenham for £8 million at the beginning of last season.

He made a goalscoring debut for England in 2012 and has been a really solid defender wherever he’s played.

With Cardiff relegated from The Premier League this season we imagine that Caulker will definitely move on and Everton could do a lot worse than sign this lad. The Daily Mail says:

Everton have joined the queue of clubs who are keen on signing Cardiff City captain Steven Caulker.

He’s an all-rounder who represents consistency and solidity. He’s got great pace, two decent feet and offers real goal threat from set-pieces.

He’s a mobile and reliable player who, at 22, we could definitely imagine having a big future for England.

This story follows reports yesterday that Everton are looking to sign Croatian winger Ivan Perisic.

Everton have spoken to Wolfsburg about a potential move for Croatia winger Ivan Perisic.

The 25-year-old is valued at £8million and Everton scouts have watched him closely in the Bundesliga and playing for his national side notably against Australia in their pre-World Cup warm-up game and Brazil on Thursday night.

Perisic only joined Wolfsburg from Dortmund 18 months ago but they are looking at strengthening in other areas and will weigh up the strength of any Everton bid.

The latest reports also suggest that Everton will seal the deal for Gareth Barry before too long.

Let’s see Perisic in action. Everton fans: happy days with these three potential signings or are you dubious about the overall quality?
