Chelsea keep buying

Chelsea are reportedly preparing a lucrative move for midfielder Tony Kroos. The London side are looking to beat off interest from Manchester United to land the talented German, according to The Express.

Kroos only has one year remaining on his contract with the current Bundesliga champions with The Mirror reporting that talks between the player and club having apparently stalled. This could leave the door open for a number of teams to come in, forcing Bayern Munich to recoup money now rather than see him leave for nothing at the end of next season.

The 24 year old spent his youth career at Greifswalder SV, Hansa Rostock and Bayern Munich. He moved in the German club’s second team in 2007 before making the step up into the senior team the following year. He had two spells loan at Bayer Leverkusen during 2009 and 2010 where he made 43 appearances and scored 10 league goals.

Since establishing himself as a regular in the Bayern Munich side he has made over 170 appearances in all competitions, finding the back of the net 23 times.

An experienced international, Kroos has 44 caps. He is currently in Brazil for the 2014 World Cup and could make an appearance for the German side against Portugal today.

The news follows the signing of Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona last week, which means that Mourinho may be looking to overhaul his midfield and partner his new Spanish playmaker with the young German.

Over the last 24 hours, Mourinho has also confirmed that Thibaut Courtois will be returning to Chelsea next season following a two year loan spell with Atletico Madrid. He also spoke about his confidence that Diego Costa would be a Chelsea player next season, bolstering an strike force that disappointed last season.

I think that what chelsea should be looking at is to add more striking force and add more in the defense, the midfield is fild up with professionals that should be enough for now.
