Arsenal need more strikers!

It’s hardly hot off the press that one is it? Arsenal will surely add one or two this summer and various names are being thrown around.

Today the Telegraph suggests that Arsene Wenger is paying close attention in Brazil to Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic.

He will be out of the opening game against Brazil through suspension but this guy scores goals wherever he plays.

It’s been said before that he is a typical British number nine. A powerful aerial presence and someone who can really rough up the opposition defence. In this respect, he may well offer something different to what Arsenal currently possess up top.

But we would say that there are a some similarities between him and Olivier Giroud, however, and whether they would compliment each other if they were on the pitch at the same time remains to be seen.

As The Telegraph says:

Arsenal are planning to sign at least one striker and Mandzukic is high on Wenger’s list of targets, which also includes Karim Benzema and Mario Balotelli who are also at the World Cup with France and Italy.

soccersweep thinks that a combination of Balotelli, Remy and Giroud would be better for the club. But Mandzukic is a proven goalscorer so Arsenal fans surely wouldn’t be too disappointed if he does turn up.

Let’s see the lad in action.
