Chelsea: Negotiations Confirmed

Chelsea seem to be flying out of the traps in terms of transfers this summer and appear close to snaring some of their top targets.

Diego Costa seems to have both feet in the door at Chelsea and there are strong rumours of the club signing Cesc Fabregas and Filipe Luis of Atletico Madrid.

These are all top players. But one of the main concerns for Chelsea fans this summer is not just signing players but holding on to the best of their current crop.

Oscar and Eden Hazzard were rumoured to be interesting in PSG, who have even more scary amounts of money than Chelsea at their disposal.

But, having confirmed that he has started negotiations over a new contract with Chelsea, Hazard has made it abundantly clear that he wants to stay at the club.

‘I am staying at Chelsea, 100 per cent sure,’ said the 23-year-old.

‘Of course in football you never know, but I am under contract with Chelsea and I want to stay there.

‘And I am in discussions with Chelsea for a new contract. It is only the beginning of the talks right now, but we have got time.

This is great news for Chelsea because, whoever they sign this summer, it would extremely difficult to replace a player of Hazard’s rare ability.

Genuine match winners are so few and far between in this day and age and Chelsea certainly have one in Hazard. They may lack strikers at the moment. But that is an easier problem to cure than to replace the creativity and service of someone like the Belgian.

He’s just had his best season at Chelsea and we think that he could go on to have as big an impact in The Premier league as Cristiano Ronaldo or Luis Suarez in their pomp.

Hazard has got everything in his locker and is still in his early 20s.

It’s great news that Chelsea are continuing to strengthen the squad but also keeping their best player.

Let’s see the lad in action.
