We have spoken over the last week about the potential need for an extra midfielder at Real Madrid this summer
As well as looking to augment their strikeforce, as they do on a yearly basis, Real Madrid do look as if they need a real midfield dynamo in there to add more spark and athleticism.
Chelsea midfielder Ramires was mentioned over the weekend and Arturo Vidal has also been linked to Real Madrid of late.
But reports today suggest that Real Madrid may try to sign Marco Verratti – a player who was signed by Carlo Ancelotti when he was managing PSG.
Verratti is another top target for Ancelotti
Real Madrid are said to be closely watching the situation of the Italian midfielder Marco Verratti who has just won the French league with PSG and is thought of as the best young player in Ligue 1. Carlo Ancelotti originally signed him for PSG from Pescara during his time as coach at the French club.
The Italian international has played 56 league games for PSG since joining the club in 2012. At 5ft 5in he is not much of a goal-scorer as yet but more of a pass master who covers every angle and keeps things ticking in the midfield. He’s a hard working technician who gets the ball to the danger men with minimum fuss.
His form has got him a place in the squad for Italy in Brazil and big things are expected of the player this summer. Let’s see the 21 year old in action.
